Nicaraguan boas are a sub-species of the common Central American boa. Nicaraguan boas mature at smaller sizes than Columbians do. Males mature at three to three and a half feet, and females around five feet. Visually, Nicaraguan boas commonly have a connected or circle-back pattern. The animals in my collection are all highly colored, but many that I've seen are quite dark in color with muddy tails. Many hypomelanistic boas are naturally found throughout Nicaragua and breeders are now establishing several pure proven lines.
